I tried the Heavenly Plain in a recipe for whipped cream frosting and it
was
awesome. I ran out of butter and decided to experiment by substituting
the
cream cheese. It was so delicious, everyone loved it, and it froze
well.
Here is the recipe if you're interested: ( I think it would be great with
strawberry, too)
- 1 cup whipping cream
- dash of salt
- rounded 1/3 c. flour, sifted
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Hahn's yogurt & cream cheese
- 1 cup sifted confectioner's sugar (2 for stiffer frosting)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Mix cream, flour, and salt until lumps are dissolved. Cook over medium
heat while stirring constantly. Cook until thickened and mixture forms
a
paste-like ball. Allow paste to cool
After paste is cooled, whip. Add butter and Hahn's yogurt & cream cheese,
whip together. Add sugar, continue whipping. Add vanilla, and beat
well.
This frosting may need to be refrigerated if not used soon after making,
especially in hot weather. It freezes well.
